Events

Check out some of the annual events we use to develop relationships within the church, grow in our faith, and serve our community.

  • Sandwich Sunday

Each year, we set aside one Sunday morning to make sandwiches and cookies for local homeless shelters & community organizations. It's a fun way to bless our community as all ages work together, expressing our thanksgiving and praise of God in an act of service.

  • Palm Sunday Party

Our Palm Sunday Party and Potluck gets our Holy Week underway. It includes an Easter egg hunt and other kids activities and as a Lutheran church we have to throw in a potluck. During Holy Week, we also have worship services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday... all leading to the joy and hope and victory that all come to life and into our lives on Easter morning.

  • Prayer Vigils Plus Pasta Feed and Chili Cook-off

Each year, we hold two prayer vigils; one in May around the National Day of Prayer and a second the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This gives our church a focused time o worship that weaves songs of praise with prayers for the community and our church. Prior to the prayer vigil, we share a meal with a trophy given away each fall for the best chili in the congregation.

  • Fargo Beanbag Benefit

Each year we find a local non-profit organization or need that would benefit from additional financial support and we host a beanbag tournament with all proceeds going to that cause. In four years we've raised over $20,000 by hanging out in the church's yard playing a game.

  • Neighborhood Block Party

It's good to know your neighbors and, at Crosspointe, we want to be a proponent of a strong neighborhood. So every year as summer changes to fall, we invite our neighbors to a block party with food, inflatable games, horse-drawn carriage rides and a fun place to connect.

  • Outdoor Worship Service and Church Picnic

Our outdoor worship service and church picnic is typically held the last Sunday of August. We move our worship service outside, share a meal, and get a little crazy whether it's with 9 Square in the Air, Gaga Ball, or some new and messy rendition on an old game.

  • Pancake Breakfasts

Food seems to be a common theme. Twice a year, we serve up pancakes, sausages, and fruit either before or after our worship service to provide additional fellowship time.

  • Advent Meals and Activities

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we gather as a church on Wednesday nights for meals and activities that help prepare us for Christmas. From decorating the church to our ugly Christmas sweater contest this time together provides a break from all the holiday rush.
